The Toyota RV-2 never saw production; it was a concept car shown in 1972.
It takes the form of a shooting brake—the sleek two-door wagon style seen on the Volvo P1800ES and the Ferrari FF—and takes it way beyond. Gullwing rear panels open up to the sky to make room for open-air lounging, a canopy, or even a tent. The rear folds down so occupants can easily crawl in and out, and the interior is more modular than a Vanagon. Up to four people could sleep in it, and you could even pull out parts of the RV-2 to make a picnic table and chairs. All that, and a 2.6 liter V6 that would have made it pretty fun to drive, too.
